Welcome CSU Library Media Students and Alumni
After our wonderful classes together, we must stay in touch for mutual support and education. This is our blog to post news, thoughts, questions, curriculum ideas, etc. We also plan a reunion at the CSLA conference in Sacramento in November. Watch here for the time and place.

Found this on CALIB about keeping print encyclopedias vs. switching to online versions. Thought you all might be interested.
-- computers/networks not always up
-- not enough computers in the library/school
-- "browse"-ability
-- useful for teaching book/text organization features (headings, indexes,
etc.)
-- useful for introducing features common to many reference books
-- useful for teaching note-taking (online versions lend themselves easily to copy/paste)
Vicki Plefka here -
Wait - Stacy - does this mean it's official??? If so, CONGRATULATIONS - you go girl! I am so pleased for you and wish you a great first year.
I am sad to report my wonderful district librarian, Eric Vereyken, has left Rio Linda Union District for a job in Placer County, closer to his home. We have high hopes for finding someone equally as good, but big shoes to fill. Penny has generously offered to help with finding a replacement. In the meantime, we are now at four LMTs in my district, so forward momentum continues. My first day back was Wednesday this week; students come back Monday. We have some district money for libraries - more than last year thanks to state funds. Hooray!
If others are interested in getting together for Saturday "coffee dates" to compare/share ideas, keep us all posted. Sounds great to me. Everyone have a great school year! Miss you all!!
Yes, was a great day! Stacy, Vicki, Jeannie Smelloff and Chris showed up. Got the scoop on Stacy's triumph in Davis. October in Granite Bay, if Julia lets us know, or Sacto or Davis. Anyone interested?
